I am a multi-media producer who got my start working in the fashion industry in hollywood, california.  I was born in elmhurst, illinois and when I was a kid, we moved to the small mountain town of grand lake, colorado, where I grew up.  at 16, I moved to brazil, originally as an exchange student but I stayed on longer than schedule to where I began my career in the fashion industry as a model.

modeling was fun but I always wanted to work in entertainment.  I started out my career in fashion working with celebrities and their stylists at american rag, cie. in los angeles.  I was invited to join the styling team headed by l'wren scott and began my career as a hollywood stylist.

recognizing that working with l'wren was somewhat limiting, I joined celebrity stylist elizabeth cowan when her previous styling partner moved on.  elizabeth and I remained friends for many years and worked on several projects together, most notably for vanidad magazine, a spanish language fashion magazine.  cowan handled the duties of fashion editor and I produced the celebrity features for the magazine.  

in 1997, I launched fashionteen.com.  fashionteen was an online portal for teenagers that included the latest in fashions from companies like h&m, diesel and skechers plus exclusive celebrity content.  within three years, fashionteen became one of the hottest content driven sites on the web - hosting more than one million unique visitors monthly and featuring exclusive content with major celebrities including britney spears, n*sync, backstreet boys and madonna.  in 2001, I sold fashionteen to a larger corporation.

in 2003, I formed the corporation mega muscle productions, inc.  the focus of mega muscle was and is the production of workout videos featuring the companies core team of fitness models.  mega muscle is credited with single-handedly creating the careers of america's top fitness models derrick davenport, julian fantechi and lucas walker and gave new life to the careers of fitness legends dave nathan, lance lamar and yvan cournoyer.  in addition, to media production, mega muscle launched several event productions including the mega muscle photography workshops and the hot shots photo competitions.  of course, as with any company that grows, I have kept the company in a constant state of evolution and because of this, mega muscle remains one of the top fitness production companies in the world.

in 2007, I was approached by yoga guru and life coach alika medeiros about producing a series of products featuring the ancient teachings of alika's hawaiian ancestors.  we formed malama international and the company has developed the kilo lani yoga programs, the massage made simple programs and of course, the aloha life film that is being honored with awards at film festivals world-wide.  while it is a lot of work, I am constantly reminded of why I keep on when I see the difference we are making in the lives of others.

today, I currently manages the operations of both mega muscle productions and malama international.  it is a lot of work but I really wouldn't have it any other way.  I live in san francisco with my life partner of more than a decade, our two dogs and a cat.  when not in the bay area, I am often in sedona, az, vancouver, bc or our offices in hawaii.
