fashion layout production

shortly after I became a fashion stylist, I realized that there was so much more to creating a fashion layout that I loved.  Of course it was fun deciding what clothes people are going to wear but seeing the whole thing come together is what really motivates me.  finding the right photographer, the right models, the right locations, the right hair, makeup and wardrobe people - this is what truly is exciting to me.

when I was working with elizabeth cowan, I began producing shoots for vanidad magazine.  my first big production was a fashion layout that was accompanying a story with the designer rick owens.  I met rick at new york fashion week and thought his dark aesthetic would be an amazing look for a fashion editorial.  this shoot was my introduction to learning that in addition to all of the things you think about when you ahve a fashion shoot -- there are also many you do not -- insurance, permits, releases...

of course, since those days, with all of my companies, I take an active role in production.  additionally, I am hired regularly to work on other people's fashion layouts.  whether it is an advertising campaign for rosasen, an edgy fashion layout for surface, or underwater swimwear for european magazines -- each production poses a series of exciting and interesting challenges that continue to remind me why I love production!
